The RM of Bengough
The Town of Bengough gave its name to the Rural Municipality of Bengough No. 40 and was incorporated in 1913 from Local Improvement District No. 40.
The Rural Municipality of Bengough No. 40 is an 11 ½ Township Rural Municipality and has 320 miles of road: 31 miles of Primary Grid, 107 miles of Grid, 60 miles of Farm Access and 122 miles of Backroads (seasonal only). The Total Taxable Assessment for the Municipality is 114, 572, 337; Agriculture 104, 533, 256, Residential 4, 056, 775 and Commercial 5, 982, 317. The Rural Municipality of Bengough No. 40 is comprised of primarily Agriculture and Pasture land and resources. There has been oil exploration in the area as well as potential helium exploration. Council is proactive and always looking for ways to attract other industries to the area.
